Remember the videos of the Sarah Palin rallies? “Kill him!” they cried!

Remember the murders, in churches no less, of “liberals” on a Bernie Goldberg inspired hate list and a doctor described by all of his patients as a “compassionate saint”? The murder in the holocaust museum. The shooting in Pittsburgh? Other murders by wing nuts?

Remember the crazy woman who carved a backwards “B” in her own face?

I’ll assume you’re aware that death threats towards America’s first black President are 400% higher than they were towards the Chimp in Chief.

Remember the accusations of “Bush Derangement Syndrome”, even when you’d type out pages of facts describing how he really WAS “the.worst.president.ever”. Even though he worked with Cheney to turn us into a nation that tortures (and apparently condones it), their inherent fear of anything new or different allowed them to justify it.

That crazy “birfer” lady that disrupted Castle’s town hall meeting was just the tip of the iceberg. So fearful are these faux-conservatives of the reality that the white man’s undisputed rule (I’m a white guy, so shut the fuck up) *will* come to an end (it’s “when”, not “if” that’s the question) that they’ve lost their ability to be rational.

So depraved are these fools in their hatred of “liberals”, the Obama Derangement Syndrome has taken control of what little “sense” they ever had. They’re now taking it upon themselves to disrupt our democracy itself. They’d rather represent the insurance companies than their own neighbors. (You don’t want me to have health care? Fine. Can we shut the insurance companies down, anyway?)

“Pay close attention to the man behind the congressman,” Geraldino says

In the second clip the loser in the tie says “I believe in the second amendment”.

Where do these idiots get the idea that they can shoot people with impunity, and they’ll never shoot back?

Cash for clunkers sounds like…like….like, another government run project. Touted for its “success” and ballyhooed for its timeliness, our guys in DC have once again saved the day…or have they.

How about carbon “savings”:

To begin with, building a new car consumes energy. It is estimated that 6.7 tons of carbon are emitted in the process. So a driver who participates in the “cash for clunkers” program would need to make up for that wickedness. There are about 250 million registered vehicles in the United States. Only a micro-slither of those cars will be traded in — and a slither of that number could be deemed “clunkers” outside the Beltway.

A survey of car dealerships found a relatively small differential in fuel efficiency between cars traded in and those replacing them. A Reuters analysis concluded — even with the extended program in place — “cash for clunkers” would trim U.S. oil consumption by only a quarter of 1 percent.

And those increased sales?

As James Pethokoukis, a columnist at Reuters, succinctly explained, “The program gets much of its juice via stealing car sales from the near future rather than generating additional demand.”The point of a stimulus should be to create new demand, not to move existing demand around to score political points. Then again, for this administration, economic recovery always takes a back seat to moral recovery.

But, but…they are rescuing GM and Ford and Chrysler. right?

AP reported that “the limited information released so far shows most buyers are not picking Ford, Chrysler or General Motors vehicles, and six of the top 10 vehicles purchased are Honda, Toyota and Hyundai.”

(edit: newer data from WaPo : “Four of the five top-selling cars in the government’s “Cash for Clunkers” program are made by foreign automakers, according to new data released Tuesday by federal transportation officials.’>

And, what a deal

Edmunds.com noted recently that over 100,000 buyers put their purchases on hold waiting for the program to launch. Once consumers could start cashing in on July 24, showrooms were flooded and government servers were overwhelmed as the backlog of buyers finalized their purchases. Secondly, on July 27, Edmunds.com published an analysis showing that in any given month 60,000 to 70,000 “clunker-like” deals happen with no government program in place.

To put it another way, that One Billlllion dollar giveaway wasn’t really $3500-4500 per vehicle. Since many, or even most, would have bought anyway, the incremental cars sold cost the taxpayer between $11,000 and $45,000 per vehicle. Gotta love it.

A former Blackwater employee and an ex-US Marine who has worked as a security operative for the company have made a series of explosive allegations in sworn statements filed on August 3 in federal court in Virginia. The two men claim that the company’s owner, Erik Prince, may have murdered or facilitated the murder of individuals who were cooperating with federal authorities investigating the company. The former employee also alleges that Prince “views himself as a Christian crusader tasked with eliminating Muslims and the Islamic faith from the globe,” and that Prince’s companies “encouraged and rewarded the destruction of Iraqi life.”

“it appears that Mr. Prince and his employees murdered, or had murdered, one or more persons who have provided information, or who were planning to provide information, to the federal authorities about the ongoing criminal conduct.”
