Bah, humbug! He was just a follower.
Reading this, I learned a tad about Carl Scmitt. That guy was a real winner, and perhaps the basis of neoconservatism and the “imperial presidency”.
Some ideas are just wrong. And for the life of me I can’t see how anyone can reconcile democratic ideals with such a worldview as these people (and their followers) have perpetuated.
Nazism is illegal in many countries, rightly so. Yet, in the US of A, such a zeitgeist is reflected in the political mainstream in a singular example of cognitive dissonance.

I’m so glad not to have to live over there anymore.
Gimme a fvcking break, always trying to keep us askeered.
Finally, ex- mainstream media journalist sees the light:
The more I learn about the Cold War, the more I wonder how we survived it…..
Remember all those cold war movies where nuclear missile crews are frantically dialing in the secret codes sent by the White House to launch nuclear-tipped intercontinental ballistic missiles? Well, for two decades, all the Minuteman nuclear missiles in the US used the same eight-digit numeric passcode to enable their warheads: 00000000.
That fact, originally revealed in a column in 2004 by then-president of the Center for Defense Information Dr. Bruce G. Blair, a former US Air Force officer who manned Minuteman silos, was also mentioned in a paper by Steven M. Bellovin, a computer science professor at Columbia University who teaches security architecture. Both of these sources were cited this week in an article on the site Today I Found Out written by Karl Smallwood, as well as in an article in the UK’s Daily Mail.
The codes, known as Permissive Action Links (PALs), were supposed to prevent the use of nuclear weapons—and the nuclear weapons under joint control with NATO countries in particular—without the authorization of the president of the United States. The need for such controls became clear during the 1963-1964 Cyprus crisis, when NATO members Turkey and Greece were reportedly seeking control of NATO nuclear weapons—to use on each other.
At least that’s the way it was supposed to work, following an executive order from President John F. Kennedy. But at the time of the Cuban Missile Crisis, more than half of the missiles in Europe, including those in Turkey, lacked PAL controls. And while Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara directly oversaw the installation of PALs on the US-based ICBM arsenal, US Strategic Command generals almost immediately had the PAL codes all reset to 00000000 to ensure that the missiles were ready for use regardless of whether the president was available to give authorization.
Dr. Blair stated that that the not-so-secret code was hardly a secret from the crews manning the silos. “Our launch checklist in fact instructed us, the firing crew, to double-check the locking panel in our underground launch bunker to ensure that no digits other than zero had been inadvertently dialed into the panel,” Blair noted.
I will vote for the Democratic POTUS candidate in the general election. Period.
Hillary may, or may not, be a “sure thing” if SHE runs, but Bernie would better represent me.
Make no mistake, I can’t understand why ANYONE would vote for a GOP POTUS.
But, I’m as tired as any of you of “third way” Clinton/Bush politics.
It’s time for a REAL change, and I think Bernie could win it all. I mean, just for example, who’s happy with making 30% less than we made a few decades ago, or NOT taxing the rich to pay for social security? THESE ARE WINNING ISSUES. Let’s advance them.
Sen. Bernie Sanders, the self-identified socialist from Vermont, has met plenty of angry people in recent years.
“Some of them are in the Occupy Wall Street movement and consider themselves progressives,” Sanders said Monday at the Brookings Institution, a Washington-based think tank. “Some are in the Tea Party movement and consider themselves conservatives.”
Whatever their political bent, he said, “They have every right in the world to be angry.”
In 2008, the Anonymizer company was acquired by the Abraxas Corporation, which was purchased by Cubic in 2010 for $124 million. Some of Abraxas’ former employees left to form Ntrepid that same year. Lance Cottrell, founder of Anonymizer, is the chief scientist at Ntrepid. Anonymizer is wholly owned by Ntrepid.
In March 2011, Ntrepid won a $2.76 million contract from the U.S. military for “online persona management.” The contract was for the creation of technology which would allow for blogging activities on websites, exclusively outside of the United States, to “counter violent extremist and enemy propaganda.” It would allow for one operator to anonymously create and control up to ten personas from one computer. Each persona would have a background, history, supporting details, and cyber presence that is consistent from a technical, cultural, and geographic standpoint.
The project is overseen by U.S. Central Command (Centcom), whose spokesman Commander Bill Speaks stated that the operation would be carried out in Arabic, Farsi, and Urdu.
The project is thought to be connected with Operation Earnest Voice.
This must be why I call Daily Kos a “rape” site. It is happening there. It is all about fake consensus.
Think about it, is the greatest demographics yet. Don’t let anyone tell you different. Those under 30 could presently rule the world. They could change the outlook of Congress every two years. No wonder the CIA and DEA and NSA and international power-mongers (Saudi, Israeli, British, American) are hauling more illegal and dangerous drugs around this world. They want to ruin this demographic number.
It is your kids, folks. My kid tails it just like I did on the baby boom.
So it was a thought given to me by Jen Briney who runs this delightful site: http://www.congressionaldish.com
She is amazing! Here is a good interview: http://thehighersidechats.com, You might want to listen to Ellen Brown too. Both of them are totally worth the time.
If you are on the either/or political trend, you are so so out of date.
Workable links are in the following post. Sorry. Gotta call a cancer friend and have no time to mess further with it.
