It is said that rising gas prices are hurting Obama…

… and frankly, it’s his own damned fault.

If he followed an ideology …. sorry, a belief system… he could point out that gas prices are rising because of a basic evil – unproductive speculation.

But since he wants to be all things to all people, he fails when confronted with unconfortable truths. You can’t support free-trade agreements without insisting on fair trade, for example. When the shit hits the fan and you’re neither here nor there, you’re going to get shit in the face.

And NO, this isn’t anti-Obama per se. It’s anti market-driven democracy. To hell with “good intentions” balanced with “expediency” in order to achieve less than half of the “good intentions”. It’s hypocritical, and it’s the common failure in the false dichotomy.

Stand up for what you want, be clear about what you want, sell what you want, and be elected on that basis. That’s what I ask for.
