Why is this board absent of comments on Eric Holder?

If you have been talking about it, I must have missed it.
So what do you think about this issue?
I think he should resign. However I have been wanting this for years now.
WHO WILL WATCH THE WATCHERS?

Speaking only for myself, I haven’t posted about it because I’m not interested in it.

Democrat in the WH, Republipigs witchhunt Democratic WH.

    Ho hum.

I’m not surprised when that bright, shiny ball of fire pops up over the horizon every morning, either.

Although I have to admit that the theory that “Obama did this so people wouldn’t like guns and he can get rid of them” would be wildly entertaining if there weren’t so many morons in the US who don’t know the program started under Bush. So, apparently, “Bush did this so people wouldn’t like guns and he can get rid of them”.

    Uh huh.

So I see we are supposed to remain quiet about all the bed and criminal things that democrats do? I cannot do it. I am just not party-blinded. I see it all.

I am happy to say that I am not that one-sided, that I have the political blinders off. Wishing you the same, for wisdom is where the opposites meet.

“Democrat in the WH, Republipigs witchhunt Democratic WH.”
This is not rational. It is excuse-making. It displays brainwash. Next year, the GOP will be singing the same song, with the appropriate change in wording.
“Republican in the WH. Dims witchhunt GOP WH.”

When will you folks realize that the political partys are deliberately against one another merely to keep the voters distracted from what is really going down? And what is really going down is totally supported by BOTH parties, the total annihilation of the US Constitution.

Not one banker has been prosecuted by HOlder for what they did to the members or citizens of this country. NOT ONE! Ya suppose it is holder lazyness or is he meeting an agenda that is NOT really set by political parties and the Citizens of this Country?

Anyway, Holder is infertile dirt under my thongs. Just letting you know what I highly value fertile dirt and would never associate fertile dirt with inept Holder.

“So I see we are supposed to remain quiet about all the bed (sic) and criminal things that democrats do? I cannot do it. I am just not party-blinded. I see it all.”

You can be as noisy as you want, as far as I’m concerned, but if you don’t want to come across as a raving loon you’re going to have to do more than make noise about “all the bed (sic) and criminal things that democrats do”. Like maybe citing an example in reference to “Fast and Furious” and then supporting it, to prove you “see it all”.

Citing an example and supporting it might be hard to do. Daryl Issa, the car thief who promised in 2010 that when he got subpoena power he would “bombard the Obama administration with subpoenas,” admits he doesn’t have any evidence. (Here’s a FreeRepublic link if Think Progress is too “lefty” for you.)

House Minority Leader John Boehner threw his full support behind Rep. Darrell Issa’s (R-Calif.) plan to bombard the Obama administration with subpoenas if Republicans take back the House in November.

        ::snip::

A Chairman Issa would prove a huge headache for Obama, much as Rep. Dan Burton (R-Ind.) was as the committee’s chairman during the Clinton administration. Burton issued 1,052 subpoenas to the White House and other Democrats from 1997 to 2002.

Sounds like the GOP witch-hunted Clinton and now they’re doing it to Obama. You remember Clinton, right? The POTUS who was impeached along partisan lines for a crime he was proven not to have committed? (Per Ken Starr’s legal definition, oral genital contact wasn’t legally considered “sex”, so Clinton didn’t lie about it.) Funny, I don’t remember a witch hunt by the Democratic party when Reagan, Bush 1, or Bush 2 were in office.

Last week, Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-OH) claimed that the White House decision to invoke executive privilege to prevent the release of some documents related to the “Fast and Furious” investigation indicated some sort of admission of a White House cover-up. Today, pressed by Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace, House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA) admitted that there is absolutely no evidence to back up Boehner’s allegation:

WALLACE: Do you have any evidence that White House officials were involved in these decisions, that they knowingly misled Congress, and are involved in a cover-up?

ISSA: No, we don’t. And what we are seeking are documents that we know to exist, February 4 to December [2011] that are in fact about [murdered Border Patrol agent] Brian Terry’s murder, who knew, and why people were lying about it…

WALLACE: I want to be clear, because we’ve got to get out, no evidence that the White House is involved in the cover up?

ISSA: And I hope they don’t get involved.

““Democrat in the WH, Republipigs witchhunt Democratic WH.” This is not rational. It is excuse-making. It displays brainwash.”

Not rational? That’s kinda harsh, since the GOP has witch hunted the last two Democratic Presidents, and the Democrats haven’t witch hunted any GOP Presidents.

“Next year, the GOP will be singing the same song, with the appropriate change in wording.
“Republican in the WH. Dims witchhunt GOP WH.”

I definitely hope I don’t have to live through rMoney, the lying asshole, putting the final stake in the heart of the middle class, but even if I do I’d be shocked if the GOP wasn’t lying when they accused the Dems of witch hunting. Like so many things the GOP lies about, this isn’t a “both sides do it” situation. Only one side does it. The side I despise. The GOP.

Here’s another take on the POS ISSA: Behind Darrell Issa’s Witch Hunt Is an Ethics Challenged Partisan Hack

Actually, it was proven that Clinton committed perjury before the civil court, perjury before the grand jury, witness tampering, and obstruction of justice.

(Per Ken Starr’s legal definition, oral genital contact wasn’t legally considered “sex”, so Clinton didn’t lie about it.)

Nonsense. He lied almost continuously. And his claim of a “twisted definition” did not prevent his lies from counting as lies.

Funny, I don’t remember a witch hunt by the Democratic party when Reagan, Bush 1, or Bush 2 were in office.

Try Nixon. If what happened to Clinton was a witch hunt, then so was what happened to Nixon.

Not rational? That’s kinda harsh, since the GOP has witch hunted the last two Democratic Presidents, and the Democrats haven’t witch hunted any GOP Presidents.

If what is happening to Obama is a witch hunt, then so is what happened to Reagan (Iran/Contra).

I can see elevating both Clinton and Nixon to witch hunt status. But I wouldn’t give that status to the minor investigations of Reagan and Obama.

Kiriakou Calls Leak Prosecution Selective, Vindictive
June 22nd, 2012 by Steven Aftergood
    http://www.fas.org/blog/secrecy/

Former CIA officer John Kiriakou, who is charged with unauthorized disclosure of a covert officer’s identity and other classified information, says that the case against him is driven by government animosity, and that he is a target of selective prosecution.

“When White House aides leaked stories about the heroes who killed Osama Bin Laden, they were not prosecuted. When the Washington Post was granted access to the covert director of the CTC for a profile of those directing America’s ‘war on terror,’ no one was prosecuted,” his attorneys wrote in a newly disclosed motion for dismissal.

“But when John Kiriakou gave an interview where he admitted the United States used waterboarding and when he further opined that waterboarding was ineffective, the government went after him,” the motion stated.

Interesting. Kiriakou is charged with the same crime that I think Cheney committed.

I believe in innocent until proven guilty, but if he’s guilty I hope they hang him out to dry.

BTW, legally speaking the “they did something bad, too, so our guy should get away with any crime he committed” defense is utter nonsense. A judge will laugh that right out of court. Kiriaku should fire his lawyers.

State Secrets Protection Act Introduced in House
June 22nd, 2012 by Steven Aftergood
    http://www.fas.org/blog/secrecy/

A bill “to provide safe, fair, and responsible procedures and standards for resolving claims of state secrets privilege” was introduced in the House of Representatives this week by Rep. Jerrold Nadler and several Democratic colleagues.

Essentially, the bill (HR 5956) would require courts to render an independent assessment of the validity of a government assertion of the state secrets privilege, rather than simply deferring to the claim. When the privilege is properly asserted, courts would be required to consider the feasibility of introducing non-privileged substitutes for privileged evidence.

I’m willing to bet I can find SOMETHING I disagree about with him, or any of the rest that I like. I don’t believe in perfect politicians.

But the point remains, I can name Democrats I agree with MOST of the time. The progressive caucus, for example.

I can’t name a Republican who I think will vote the way I’d want them to vote on ANYTHING that really matters. Even when they agree more with me, their leadership won’t let them vote that way. If they do, they lose all support in their next election. No campaign money from the GOP, they’re targeted for defeat in their next primary and they know it.

      Republicans suck.

Ron Paul is the best of them so far.

The Democrats are nuts and they suck, putting man at the center of the universe yet again … because there is no evidence for anthropological-created climate change. This is natural process. The science isn’t there for their …not science or theory, but MANDATE. AND they want to make public and hackable all your medical records and totally control your access to health care.
Aside: The best thing to do if this happens is to work off the healthcare grid and provide healthcare and health care autonomy on a private level. Yeppers, back to backroom abortions and all sorts of people-killing antics.

The GOP is nuts and they suck because they want to tell you what god to believe in and create laws under that strange, ppolitical, and egotistical god (one I rejected long, long ago), as if they alone had a straight line to god’s mind (which god, they never really tell you, and there are so many gods), … while we all have complete access to the original mind. AND The GOP want to tell you what to do with your money.

Both parties suck and are nuts because they are driven by the wishes of those who donate the most to their campaign.

      Admit MY irrationality?

Although I read Daily Kos, I rarely post links to the site and don’t think there are any in this thread, so I’m not sure why you’re all of a sudden attacking Kos, or why you brought it up in a thread that’s about Holder and Fast and Furious.

I don’t even know where to begin with this; “your decisions and choosing of sides is NOT at all a rational process”, aside from noting that it’s a personal attack.

“You cannot eliminate the humanity in you just because someone put on you a goal to SEEM rational”

Who did this? Or, rather, what do you mean by this? I only “seem” rational because of something someone else did? I can’t be “human” and “rational” at the same time?

Seriously, I don’t get this at all. Are you suggesting I should wear a tinfoil beanie because someone is beaming thoughts into me??

      “stop calling me GOP”

The only time I remember “calling” you GOP was a while back when you said something about being a registered Republican (once, and maybe re-registering? I don’t remember exactly why you brought it up.) My comment was something to the effect of “Oh, yeah, I remember that” from way back in the Yahoo boards days.

Re: the “raving lunatic” thing. I wasn’t trying to call you a raving lunatic. I was saying that if you want to make allegations against someone you should be specific, and be ready to support and defend what you say, or there will definitely be people who will perceive you to be a raving lunatic.

I’ve made mistakenly false allegations, and when called on it or shown I was incorrect, I’ve publicly admitted to the mistake. More than once. And people posted that it made them respect me MORE, not less.

Call me crazy, but I think that’s one of the reasons I “SEEM rational”.

Why can’t you just admit that the whole Holder thing is ungrounded hysterical election year politics in view of the FACT that Issa admits he doesn’t have any evidence?

      ‘forgive me”

      Of course.

Life in “the most advanced civilizations” has become too stressful.

If you’re lucky enough to be employed, you worry about losing your job.

If you have no job, you worry about where to live and what to eat.

If you have a LITTLE bit of money, you worry about spending it too fast.

If you have no money and no job, you have plenty to worry about.

Once you have enough money to retire, you worry about ONE ILLNESS taking it all away.

We’re definitely not a “christian nation” when we refuse to share the wealth.

If one gets sick, or loses his/her job, we should all be willing happy to help pick them up. Instead, far too many say “I’ve got mine so fuck you”. It’s so short-sighted.

I despise the Republicans, especially the teabaggers, for lowering our collective expectations, but I’ve recognized the problem lies with the American voter for a long time, now. Why is the reaction to “teachers have good pensions” “so let’s take them away”, instead of “I want that, too, and I’m willing to work to get it”?

We’ve become a mean-spirited people who would gladly step over the dead bodies of the sick and poor on our way to our meaningless, low-paying jobs, racing to find common ground with the lowest common denominator, and it doesn’t seem to be just an American phenomenon; Europe is rife with “austerity measures”.

There’s too much money in politics, and the media is a dishonest, wholly owned corporate entity. We don’t hear the truth, so unless we seek it out ourselves we don’t know it, and far too few seek it out. They don’t have the time. See “meaningless, low-pay jobs” above. Often 2 or 3 of them.

If we turn on each other, which a reading of any blog, left or right, will tell you is our default whenever we disagree on even the most minor issue, we have nothing left to hope for.

What we need to do in America is get angry at the very wealthy/greedy folks who are running this year’s elections. I don’t see it happening.

I think that things have become totally corrupt. Easy solutions are getting to be out of reach.

What can be done when things are ripe for revolution, yet the people remain unwilling to revolt?

The best thing that could happen to the world is a world-wide walkout. “We refuse to accept your fucked up system, any more. Fix it, and start paying us a living wage. Guarantee we won’t lose it all when we get old and sick. Share the burden, AND the wealth.”

I wonder how bad things will have to get in order to push the 99% to stand up for themselves.

But I’m not going to turn on a fellow 99%er. It’s truly “us against them”, and I can use all the allies I can get.

      xbox

Speaking of video game consoles, the Super Nintendo has now been perfectly emulated down to the last transistor (like MAME does for arcade games):

      http://byuu.org/bsnes

Only plays at half speed on my seven-ish year old computer, but I’m not sure I’d have played anything on it anyway. Kind of neat though. Supposed to play at full speed if your computer is only a few years old.

I guess the next to be perfectly emulated will be the Saturn and/or the first Playstation. (I’d imagine the Japanese 2D games for the Saturn have aged more gracefully than any 3D games of that generation, so hopefully that will receive more focus.)

So what do you think about this issue?

It’s a good way to keep Obama on the defense and prevent him from trying to rape our Constitution with another ban on assault weapons.

And it has completely eliminated his ability to use the “US gun flowing to Mexican cartels” fallacy.

The best defense is a good offense.

    I think he should resign.

Better to just keep this continuously bubbling as a minor background issue through to the end of Obama’ presidency. That way it will prevent him from any further attempts at an unconstitutional ban on assault weapons.
