“The Newsroom”

A new series on HBO. Airs Sundays at 10PM EST, and I’m sure other times. Tonight’s show was fantastic!

If you don’t subscribe to HBO, find a way to watch it. Disinformation by our “news” outlets is near the top of my list of what’s broken in America. This show dramatizes it in a way that even Red State morans can understand. Not that they’ll believe it.

On a somewhat related note, I told my wife today that the next time I talk to her right wing relatives I’m going to say “I’m afraid of Obama getting re-elected. If he does, he’s going to take all the guns from the white people and give them to the colored people. I KNOW it’s true, because I heard it on Fox News.”

She giggled.

    Good synopsis:

    (Uni warning, Kos link.)

The Newsroom dealt with the rise of Tea Party candidates in 2010. Unlike the first two episodes, which take place basically on just one day, this episode actually goes all the way from May 2010 until the actual midterm elections in November 2010. Look for veteran actor Philip Baker Hall portraying a Bob Inglis-like Republican Congressman who gets ousted in his own primary by a Tea Party challenger. Jane Fonda also makes her first appearance on the show as the CEO of the media conglomerate.

One thing of note that will have Kossacks nodding their head in “I told you so” agreement is Olivia Munn’s character Sloan Sabbith asking if these new Tea Party Congressmen will vote to raise the debt ceiling, and if the constituents that just elected them have any clue what the fuck a debt ceiling even is.

    An excellent, fast-paced episode.

That reminds me: I need to take my cable box back. I really don’t watch the news anymore. And the Kos is just as bad or worse than Fox, while Fox is entirely atrocious.

It is such a relief not to be thinking about this election cycle. I have decided. I will not knowingly vote for lies and illusions of change, when no change came. I do not want more of the same.

This country has been torn down. When we rebuild, let’s not replace those things that do not work, like dropping money into big greedy banks, like Obama and Bush did. Let’s allow corporate america to fall to it’s knees. Corporate american enslaves, poisons, pollutes and shows major disrespect. When we rebuild, let’s rebuild into something better, something that enables more personal freedoms to The People, and less freedoms and allowance for corruption and outright malice in our corporations.

On my son’s school folders, I placed a quote, just in an effort to indoctrinate him with the anti-automaton nature against the cyborg/automaton nature the school pushes on kids:

“Do not go where the path may lead; go instead where there is no path and leave a trail”

Linkin Park is pounding my senses and core. I bask in it. They sing my soul.

Anyway, the new Linkin park, Living Things, rocks!! It is different in tenor. They are still angry but less so. But now they are disappointed with those who let them down (Obama?). And then This:
