Funding the Right-Wing War on Obama

They’re the 9th richest people in America and they’re pushing hard to upend President Obama’s progressive agenda.

What was that Bush said? Something like “They call you (the richest of the rich?). I call you my base.”?

That’s who toothless Floyd from Cousinphuck Alabama thinks is “just like me”?

Fear

It’s my opinion that the one over-riding driver of the average American voter is fear. Usually, irrational fear.

Fear of scary brown people, AKA “terrorists”.

Fear of gays getting married and breaking up marriages that can withstand anything else.

Fear that swarthy Hispanics will “take our jobs”. (Or perhaps the corollary, that someone other than white men will be in charge.)

Fear that we’ll LOSE our jobs, leading to sucking the corporate cock teat cock.

Fear that women will be able to consult privately with a doctor.

Fear that “the church” is losing influence.

Fear of other nations.

Fear of the government spending too much (on people) or too little (on blowing shit up and killing people).

Pants-shitting, abject fear that things will change (Forget about “for the better” or “for the worse”, change itself is “bad”) drives a status quo that gets worse, every year.

I admit to fear, myself. I’m afraid that things WON’T change. That we’re so blinded by “patriotism” that we think we can’t make this a better place to live for EVERYONE (not just our corporate masters.) I’m afraid we’ll watch, like the proverbial slowly boiling frog, until we’re either “dead” (emotionally, at least) or so fed up we realize we have nothing to lose and do something crazy.

So, whattaya think of THAT?

VALHALLA, N.Y. — Like all inmates, Bernard B. Kerik, the former New York City police commissioner, was given a number and had his picture taken after he was ordered jailed on Tuesday.

His prisoner identification number is 210717.

Here is his photo.

Mr. Kerik is being held at the Westchester County jail complex here, a series of connected brick buildings encircled by razor wire. Mr. Kerik, who was also city correction commissioner and, briefly, President George W. Bush’s choice to head homeland security, was sent there by a federal judge who said Mr. Kerik had leaked sealed information from his future criminal trial as part of an attempt to generate public sympathy. (The county facility has a few cells to hold federal prisoners.)

Republicans are scum.

Yesterday was probably the most embarrassing day yet for the progressive blogosphere during the short reign of the Obama administration. So, now is probably a good time to just let loose and register my disgust with the movement I’ve been a part of for the last five years.

Here’s an interesting post by digby.

In case you were wondering what the local Republican officials think of politics these days, a plucky academic sent out a questionnaire asking them. It’s just fascinating, fascinating stuff.

There’s a link to all of the posts on her site, and this:

Be sure to read this one. It pretty much says it all.

SCREEN GRAB- Facebook poll: Should Obama be killed?

Okay, that’s it, I’ve had it.

The hate speech, the threats have gotten completely out of hand. And those who have incited viewers and listeners– and you know who you are Glenn Beck, Bill O’Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, Fox News, etc.– are responsible for a good part of this horrific activity.

No, it is not “grassroots”, not even close. It is a sick, terrifying, dangerous movement toward violence and the worst kind of civil unrest.

The same “party leaders” who get their rocks off by pretending to be macho and exerting their windbaggy, wrongheaded power will one day come to realize that killing is real, not just a word on a Facebook poll, and it’s already happened (Dr. Tiller, the census “fed”), and it is final. Real and final.

The only things long and hard about these blowhards (no pun) are their mics. You get rid of those, and these chest-thumping cretins are nothing more than overgrown, uncontrollable, whiny, screeching little toddlers trying to clomp around in grown-up shoes, shoes that they’ll never be able to fill. They’ll never be men. They are wounded, damaged animals.

Time to tame them. And time to demand that they tame their deranged, diseased herd of blind followers.
