Are You Willing to Bet Your Life?
We've been given many reasons for the wars...WMD, terrorists, liberation,
spreading democracy.
For those who are familiar with the PNAC and it's 2000 paper, "Rebuilding
America's Defenses" (RAD), the real reason is crystal clear. That paper, and the
philosophy of the PNAC charter members who are now in positions of power in the
White House, want to see America the sole super power indefinitely. We can deny
nuclear weapons to countries that do not presently have them and we can defeat
any single nation that already has them. We can't however, defeat them all if
they should band together to defeat the U.S.
How do we prevent a challenge to American hegemony from the European Union, or a
Russian-Chinese partnership?
A modern armored division uses about 600,000 gallons of fuel a day. Currently,
with the fuel for our aircraft, our military is using 1.7 million gallons of
fuel a day in Iraq. If the U.S. controls the areas with the greatest
accumulation of known oil reserves we have the capacity to wage war. Military
equipment runs on oil. If we control all the oil, no other country can wage war
against us. All we have to do is limit the amount of oil they're allowed to
purchase or deny them completely.
What makes this dangerous is that leaders in the rest of the world are aware of
this. The U.S. has been transparent in its motives to secure the oil not only in
the Middle East, but in the Caspian region as well. Those countries were once
part of the Soviet Union. We have been negotiating with countries with the worst
human rights violations in the world, such as Uzbekistan, whose leader boils
religious prisoners alive. That puts the Bush administration's stated desire to
rid the world of brutal dictators into question.
Will Russia stand idly by as we encroach more and more into countries within its
sphere of influence and gain control of the oil there?
We have military bases in the country of Georgia and are building bases in
Afghanistan and 14 permanent bases in Iraq. We have threatened Iran and Syria.
What options do the countries in the rest of the world have? What can they do to
stop the complete takeover of the world's dwindling supplies of oil by the U.S.?
If they wait until we grab more natural resources from other countries they
couldn't sustain a prolonged war against us that would use 1.7 million gallons
of fuel a day. They would only have one viable option to stop us militarily, and
that would be, to borrow Sen. Frist's words, "the nuclear option". A surprise
multiple nuclear strike by a coalition of countries that presently possess
nuclear weapons against strategic U.S. targets would be the only way to stop
American world domination.
Is it an action the world would be willing to take? The PNAC Neo Cons in the
White House are gambling that they won't. Is it a gamble that you're willing to
take?
